You may have seen harmony and dick’s engagement photos from a few months back, well it’s time for some wedding photos. Harmony was kind enough to model her dress back in november ( made from her grandmothers wedding dress ) for my bride+dress series. We had a great time at their understated pirate theme wedding - there were skull and cross bone cuff links for the guys, and similar buttons for the girls, a ring box with a skull on it, pirates of the caribbean replica swords for the fathers, and eye patches as favors at the reception. After the ceremony, we got some great portraits by the remaining wall of the old Daisy Air Rifle factory, and we also had some time at the end of the reception to make our way to the historic Wilcox house for some more portraits.

Amber and Chris were married on 3.22 in Joliet, IL. It was a great day, everything took place at the Joliet Union Station in downtown Joliet. Amber and Chris saw each other before the wedding, so we had a lot of time for portraits, and even some time after the ceremony to make our way to a close by park with some amazing bridges, and a cliff! I had a tough time choosing my favorites to show here, there are so many great photos from their wedding! Hope you enjoy these.

when erica and i went to michigan a couple of weeks ago, i met up with some old friends, harmony and dick, for some engagement photos. we had a great time with a borrowed sharpie and extreme low temperatures.
also, in addition to being a part of two javelins photoshoots, harmony posed for a photograph in my recent bride + dress project, of which her photograph has not been posted online yet due to dick not seeing her dress yet, but you can see a sliver of her photograph in the third of the book photographs. interestingly enough, it was also freakishly cold when we did that shoot around thanksgiving.

Over the past few months, I started a personal project called “bride + dress” - the idea of the project is to create photographs of brides that could easily be in a wedding portfolio or album, a fine art gallery, or even a fashion or bridal magazine ad. I wanted the photographs to be separate from my wedding photographs, but to connect with them as well. The final presentation is a series of 10 photographs of 5 brides ( one whom is my own wife! ) in 13x19” prints and a limited edition of 6 handmade matte 5.5x8.5” staple bound books. Here is the final product in book form.
